Curcumin significantly reduces inflammation in the body

Research has shown that supplementation with curcumin can reduce the unwanted side effects of a high-fat diet. The research, which was published in the Journal of Complementary and Integrative Medicine, looked at the beneficial effects of curcumin on inflammation, oxidative stress, and insulin resistance in high-fat fed rats.

Scientists at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in India split 20 rats into two groups: a control group and a treatment party.

One group only taken a 30 pct high-fat diet, even though the other party received a 30 pct high-fat diet with two hundred milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) body weight of curcumin every day for 12 weeks.

The researchers assessed the rats’ intake of food, body weight, and biochemical guidelines at the start and at the ending of the study. After 12 weeks, the researchers assessed oxidative stress parameters in skeletal muscle and liver triglyceride levels.

The results showed that the high-fat diet caused increases in body mass and liver embonpoint tissue mass.

It also increased degrees of plasma glucose, insulin, insulin resistance, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and very low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-c), and decreased high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol.

Moreover, the high-fat diet increased plasma inflammatory markers and bone muscle oxidative parameters in rats.In addition, it increased liver triglyceride content and caused fat accumulation in the liver.

The procedure with curcumin significantly reduced body weight, liver corpulence tissue, glucose, insulin, and insulin resistance. It also decreased plasma levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, VLDL-c, and inflammatory markers, and increased HDL cholesterol.

Inside addition, it reduced oxidative stress, hepatic triglyceride content, and liver fat depositing. In conclusion, the findings of the study advised that curcumin can improve dyslipidemia, oxidative stress, irritation, and insulin resistance brought on by a high-fat diet.
