N-Palmitoyl Glycine Description
The acyl amides are a ancestors of autogenous lipids that act as almighty modulators of affliction and inflammation. The best characterized associates of this ancestors are the arachidonoyl amides, which includes N-arachidonoyl ethanolamide (AEA; anandamide). N-palmitoyl glycine (PalGly) contains an 18-carbon saturated blubbery acerbic that is amide-linked to glycine and is structurally agnate to the phospholipid-derived N-acyl ethanolamines. Endogenously produced in rat derma and analgesic cord, PalGly is present in 100-fold greater amounts in derma and 3-fold greater in academician compared to AEA. Injection of 0.43 µg PalGly in rat hindpaw inhibits heat-induced battlefront of nociceptive neurons in rat after horn. PalGly analysis induces brief calcium arrival in built-in after basis ganglion (DRG) beef and in the PTX-sensitive, DRG-like corpuscle band F-11 (EC50 = 5.5 µM).
